For fur Report of Faculty Meeting. At a meeting of the general faculty., held November 24th, the following actions were taken: . A vote of thanks to Mr. Carnegie for his additional gift to the Founda tion for the Advancement of Teach ing was ordered. The following rule, on the recom mendation of the standing corn mittee on athletics, was amended to read as follows: "The Faculty Committee on Ath letics shall have jurisdiction over all athletic contests; and all schedules of athletic contests shall be sub mitted to this Committee for ap• proval or modification before taking effect." The committee to which was re ferred the subject of fixing a mini mum number of hours for students' schedules reported that there was no occasion for any change from the present practice, which is that a stu dent's schedule should have twenty credit hours assigned. Any ex ceptions to this general rule should be made by the Dean of the school in which the student is enrolled. The committee on the matter of exemption from examinations re ported that they were satisfied that the present basis was a reasonable and efficient one and that therefore they had no change to recommend. The committee on rules of at tendance reported certain changes, which were left over until the next meeting according to the custom. THE STATE COLLEGIAN FOR THE FREE EDUCATION OF BOTH SEXES THE REGISTRAR, State Col Certain rules governing the re quirements for military drill at the college were presented by a com mittee and adopted. A committee was appointed to in quire into any changes necessary in the method of awarding scholarships and fellowships, to report at a future meeting. A committee was appointed to examine into the matter of deficient and delinquent students, and also whether a definite system of tutor ing students should be devised. A committee was also appointed to examine into the rules concern ing the seating with their classes of students who are deficient in studies, with the thought of getting a definite seating system in chapel.
