COMMENCEMENT THE TOGGERY SHOP Report of the Secretary of the Alumni Association. The Alumni Associaticin records and books have been kept in one of the alcoves of the Carnegie Library, and Helen J. Beck has been em ployed as assistant secretary, giving one-half her time. Monthly statements have been sent out during the year, and have been responded to by 260 members. Four issues of the Alumni Quarterly have been published, and sent free of charge to all active members of the association. The issues of the Quarterly in which this report is given will be sent to all members of the association, whether their dues are paid or not. A card file of the alumni has been completed on which as com plete a record as possible is kept of every alumnus. It is very hard to keep an exact record due . to the fact that many of the alumni change THE STATE COLLEGIAN ciWe have a bundle of full dress shirts, gloves etc. but as you know our goods are always of a superior quality so hurry and get "THE RIGHT THING" before this bundle dwindles to a mere pile of empty boxes. The total number of graduates of the Pennsylvania State College up to June 1908 number 1039. Of these 56 are deceased. Of the 983 living, 338 are active • members of the Alumni Association. During the year communications have been re ceived from 450 of the entire num ber. We have also been able, either directly or indirectly, to com municate with all but about 15 whom we cannot reach by letter. The work of local organizations has progressed very materially thi3 year and there are now nine active associations, five of which are lo cated in the state of Pennsylvania. The funds collected amount to $554. Expenditures, .$323.76 which ',includes assistant secre tary's salary, postage, and printing of three issues -of the Alumni HERE Quarterly. The following colleges have been heard from and will have accredited delegates present at the inauguration exercises : Western University of Pennsylvania, Lehigh University, Wilson College, Meadville Theo logical School, Haverford College, Muskingum, College, Philadelphia College of Pharmacy, Rhode Island College of Agricultural and Mechanic Arts, Dickinson College, University of Wisconsin, Albright College, University of Pennsylvania, Susque hanna University, The Western Theological Seminary, Bucknell Seminary, Bucknell University. President Sparks represented the College at the 125th annual com mencement at Dickinson college.
