Nearly 8000 people witnessed the first annual field and track meet held at Harrisburg on Saturday by the Pennsylvania Intercollegiate Athletic Association under the auspices of the Harrisburg Track Athletic Committee. Eleven col leges were represented. A silver cup was awarded to the team win ning the most points, and gold, silver and bronze medals went to the winners of the various events. State Senator John E. Fox pre sented the prizes. On the grand Stand and bleachers were hundreds of rooters from the various institu • tions, including 300 from the Carlisle Indian School. It was the first event of the kind ever held on neutral grounds at which no ad mission was charged, the Harris burg committee standing all ex penses.
