WATCH OUR WINDOW THE TOGGERY SHOP That the coming University, with its Colleges and Schools may con tinue to grow great in numbers and in the grade and scope of its instruc tion is the earnest wish of, Yours sincerely, M. E. Wadsworth, Dean The Immigrant. A subject in which every college man should be deeply interested is that of our relations to immigrants, nearly a million of whom find homes in our country every year. On Fri day evening Dr. Edwar d A. Steiner, who has made a careful study of the whole question, will lecture on the topic, "On the Trail of the Immi grant." The talk will be practical, since it comes direct from one whose life work has been mainly a study at first hE ni of the character, aspira tions, racial characteristics, and capabilities of the immigrant him self. Dr. Steiner makes no attempt to theorize concerning the facts THE STATE COLLEGIAN UWe have a few Zodiac Stick Pins on hand and in order to close them out will sell at 50c. Soft Shirts at $l. We have at last succeeded in putting a soft shirt on the market for $1 that is worth $1.50. Compare one of our dollar shirts with one gotten elsewhere. We'll be assured of a new customer. which he has gathered, but states them in a clear forceful way which holds the attention of his hearers to the end. The whole lecture will be a discussion of the right method of assimilating and befriending the foreigner rather than of the immi grant policy in general. The lecture is given under the auspices of the Christian Associa tion, and an admission of twenty five cents will be charged. Inspection of the Regiment The annual inspection of the regi ment, which will probably occur on next Monday, will this year be in charge of Captain George H. Shel ton, of the General Staff, U. S. A. The work of the forenoon will in clude a regimental review, regiment al inspection, and drill by individual companies, by the battalions, and regimental drill. In the afternoon it is likely that there will be a regi mental parade, followed possibly by guard mounting and a field exercise similar to that of last year. The condition of the weather has hindered the work to some extent, and it has been impossible to devote time to certain parts of the work which would otherwise have been completed. Captain Hay -has ob tained permission to use all of Sat urday forenoon in drill, and there will be no classes for the men who are required to drill. It is hoped that a creditable showing may be made this year, and that our regi ment may compare favorably with the other cadet organizations which Captain Shelton will review on his trip. The Library has received a copy of Prof. Van Norman's "First Les sons in Dairying." There will be a meeting of the Senior class this evening at 7 o'clock in Room 20 of the Engineeri 3g Build ing.
