WATCH OUR WINDOW THE TOGGERY SHOP parade ground. Both sides fought valiantly for the full hour ana not a man broke out of ranks to go home for his umbrella when the rain came on. The result was never in doubt although the Sophomores at one time came almost as near getting the flag as Alexander came to getting the roast of beef in the Ham Tree act. Fire Drill Soon A welcome bit of news to every student in college is the fact that in McAllister hall and in Main build ing an organization is to be effected immediately to supervise the fight ing of any fire which may occur in the buildings. This matter has been in charge of Capt. Hay, who expects to have a drill on Saturday of this week. Each floor of the Main. building is to have two squads of three men each to handle the hose --two men at the nozzle and one at the valve. Soft Shirts at $l.OO Positively $1.50 quality. Come and see for yourself. Get in line for 50c Silk Ties. Pressing and cleaning done satisfactorily. Trousers 15c. There will also be a squad on each floor to act as guards when the alarm is given, and all will be under the supervision of the chief marshal of the building. Three marshals on each floor are to have direct charge of their floor and are to select the men to act on the squad. A similar. organization is to be formed in Mc- Allister hall. It is certain that this plan of plac ing authority in definite squads will prevent any such lack of discipline as was shown at the recent fire in the Chemistry building, and to perfect such a system, drill is necessary. Saturday seems to be the best time, and until the men get acquainted with their places, these drills will occur once in every week or two, and then onde a month. The village department has sug gested the co-operation of the stu dents with them under a town mar snal as chief, the same organization THE STATE COLLEGIAN in the buildings to fight any outside fire, and is possible that such an agreement may be made.
