Nate, as he was familiarly known, was a member of the class of 1899 and was 28 years of age. He has been located in Long Branch, N. J., where he had a position with the Consolidated Gas company. A few days ago he came home for the holidays, and at noon on Thursday he went to the Engineering building to see some friends. While he was in the building death came suddenly, being due to paralysis of the orain. Mr. Buckhout was a man highly respected and popular among his associates. He is survived by his parents, two brothers, and two sisters. RESOLUTIONS. The Agricultural society of the Pennsyl vania State college expresses its profound sor row because of the untimely death of our beloved friend and professor, Geo. C. Butz. Always active in promoting the interests of agriculture, he has won our especial admira• tion and regard, by his vigorous and success ful efforts in behalf of agricultural learning at our college, a work with which his name will always be associated and which will be a last ing memorial of his devotion to agricultural progress. The society hereby records its high apprecia tion of his life and character and directs that this action be spread upon its minutes and that a copy of the same be sent to the bereaved family. It also directs that copies be pub lished in the State College Times, the Penn State Farmer and the Collegian. H. A.
