    Dr. Gill Returns.
Dr. and Mrs. Benjamin Gill ar
rived in town last Thursday after
noon after a journey of nearly ten
thousand miles, having crossed
twice the longitude and latitude of
the United States. They lingered
longest in the neighborhood of Los
Angeles and Portland. They
visited nearly all the scenes of
greatest interest in the far west and
have seen sufficient to inspire them
for a life time. Among the places
visited were Los Angeles, Long
Beach, Pasadena, Santa Barbara,
Santa Cruz, Palo Alto, Oaktland,
and San Francisco.
Dr. Gill is more impressed than
he was two years ago with the re
sources of the west and the possi
bilities that lie open there to you. .g
men. He would gladly and freely
give talks upon ihis topic in case he
could secure an audience. They
are pleased to be back again and at
work and both say that they are as
contenten in State College as any
where in the world so long as there
is something for them to do.
The Glee Club.
Trials for the college Glee Club
were held several days ago and the
place left vacant by the 1907 mem
bers were well contended for, there
being about fifty applicants. Re
hearsals are being held two nights a
week—Wednesday and Friday—in
preparation for a concert to be given
in Bel:efonte on Oct. 31. The
manager is working hard to arrange
a number of dates for a trip this
fall and one at Easter time and any
aid the students can give him as to
the opening at their home town will
be appreciated. A good Glee Club
is a strong advertisement for the
college and every effort is being
made to develop the best club ever
heard here. Arrangements are be
ing made to have a trainer from out
side to get the club in shape.
