    Carnegie Tech. Ties State
One of the biggest sui prises of
the season was encountered by our
varsity in the game with Carnegie
Tech. on last Saturday afternoon.
The Tech,.team was originally sched
uled t) play the Reserves, but it
seems that they wanted bigger
game, and as it turned out, they al
most got it. Carnegie's boys had
the game well in hand until tne ninth
inning, when, with two men out,
Coulson put a hard single to right
field. Hirshman followed with a
slashing triple to left, bringing in tne
run that tied the game. The strug
gle continued until the end of the
eleventh inning when ti.e game was
called on account of the track meet
with Lafayette.
Both Wills and Mitinger pitched
a fine game. Cree's home run and
Hirshman's three-bagger proved to
be the batting features.
