The final game of the trip was with Lehigh, and these opponents played their best game of the seas on. Hesse's pitching together with phenomenal fielding kept State from scoring until in the seventh inning. With the score 2 to 0, the game looked a sure victory fur Lehigh, 'but Penn State's sons once more 'displayed their staying quali.ies. Larry V orhis banged out a triple past Barker in the seventh and scored on Coulson's fly to middle. In the ninth, Mason was up first and was struck by one of Hesse's in shoots. .Coulson drew a base on balls, and big Hirshman with two out settled the question with a drive for two bases between the left and middle fielders.
