Watson, Agt., 339 McAllister THE STATE COLLEGIAN The STATE COLLEGIAN invites letters, but the publication of a communication does not necessarily imply the endorsement of the sentiments contained therein As a guaran tee of good faith, the writer's name must be signed, but will not be printed if so desired. A letter has been received from a graduate of the college in regal d to the question of erecting bleachers on Beaver field. The letter is s üb lished in full, because we be:ieve that it will be of interest to the majority of the students, and be cause it seems . to sum up the present situation in the bleacher question. As I recall, at present, the estima e was in the neighborhood of seven hundred dollars, of whicn the Ath letic Association was to pay four hundred dollars and the Trustees of the college the remainder. The Trustees either refused to give that amount or did not act on the matter. so notning further was done. An additional reason why the bleacher question was dropped at that time was that the committee, after having a talk with Coach Golden, info_ red that the location of the athletic field would be changed within •a very few years, and that, therefore, money used to construct bleachers would be thrown away. In view of this fact it was deemed wise to do nothing more in the way of either temporary or permanent bleachers. . : The above mentioned bleachers were most suostantial and would ac commodate more persons than the present grandstand. There is real need of more seating space for spec tators on Beaver Field, but it would be well to look into the matter, and to see if a .-.hange of location of the athletic field is probable in the near future. Plans of the bleachers as drawn up by the cummittee and any other information they obtained should be in the file of the Secretary of the Athletic Association. Open Letters A former Sec. of the A.
