THE STATE COLLEGIAN Freshman Banquet, A very successful freshman ban quet was that of 1910, at the Park hotel, Williamsport on Wednesday evening, February 27th. The main body of-the class successfully eluded the sophomores and left State Col lege at 7 p. m. Tuesday. They were taken to Bellefonte by their special train, and from there they proceeded on to Williamspoit, by way of Mill Hall. All the next day more freshman arriveo in Williams port. On Wednesday evening the banquet was held and one hundred and sixty were present. After the banquet, toasts were given, with Robert Buka acting as toastmaster. The following men gave toasts T. L. Smith, M. D. Rowe, E. McCleary, H. M. Patton, D. K. Sloan and S. M. Smith. After the speeches, the toastmaster called on others for im promptu addresses. The follow ing committee had charge of the banquet: T. Martin (chairman), Robert Buka, T. Fred Mattern, Edgar U. Newton and George Ogilvie. Chess Club. All members of the faculty or student body who play chess are requested to confer with Dr. Stecker. If sufficient interest is shown in the matter a definite time and place for a meeting to organize will be announced.
