Baseball Reserves’ Good Trip. C. G. Reiter, 'O9, assistant base ball manager, is busy arranging a three day trip to Pittsburg during the month ot May. Games may be included with Carnegie Tech, Pitts burg High School, Kiski, Shadyside Academy, or Allegheny . High School, and this trip will prove the best ever arranged for State’s second team, which will have to be strong this season in order to make a win ning record. Return games will also be played on Beaver Field with such opponents as Carnegie Tech, Kiski and Belle fonte Academy. There is an abun dance of baseball material here this year, and the strongest reserve team on record will undoubtedly be de veloped. The varsity will not take a western trip this spring, so it is up to the reserves to uphold State’s baseball prestige in that section. As has been the usual custom the cap tain of the reserve team will be chosen by the varsity captain some time before the Easter vacation. Juniors Honor Dr. Atherton. In a class meeting on Saturday evening the juniors took up the question of the dedication of the 1908 LaVic. After a quite one sided deliberation on the subject it was decided to dedicate the LaVie to Dr. Geo. W. Atherton, the late president of the college. This un animous decision is a marvelous de monstration of the spirit of the class in coming to the realization of the real worth of our time-tested presi dent, who has given his very life to make State College what it is today.
