The intercollegiate relay carnival

decided. State has been placed in
the third class along with Swarth

Bucknell, Dickinson, Virginia, and
Colgate, while the Carlisle Indians
have been dropped to the fifth class.
There are fourteen classes in all, and
in the one immediately below that in
which State is placed come such
colleges as California, Illinois, Wis
consin, Leland Stanford, lowa,
Minnesota and Toronto. Washington
and Jefferson and Western Univer
sity of Pennsylvania are in the sixth
class along with Fordham, Villa
Nova, Maryland, Westminister etc.,
while such institutions as Boston
THE STATE COLLEGIAN
Tech, Vermont, Holy Cross, Trinity
and Bowdoin are classified as twelfth
in the list.
The members of the big six together
with Chicago and Michigan are first
and immediately following these are
Syracuse, Dartmouth, Georgetown,
Amherst, Brown, Williams, Wes
leyan and Maine. Within the next
few years State hopes to be able to
hoist her colors into this second
class. During the coming spring
Captain Henry and Coach Golden
will put forth every endeavor to turn
out the fastest relay quartet that has
ever represented Penn State, and
although this task is a mighty diffi
cult one, prospects are now bright
for its accomplishment.

The Miners Again.
Last Saturday evening the miners,
wrapped in their army blankets, de
parted from the regular diggin’s for
the famous hostelry at Centre Hall.
A wireless message sent by the elec
tricals preceded them and provoked
a warm reception by mine host.
Immediately upon the arrival some
one.struck,up “My Girl’s A Mule in
the Mine,” ‘ accompanied' 'Joy
“Bunny” on the melbdeon. The
endurance match ended in a com
plete victory for “Peepee.”
Among those who spoke were
Mason, who delivered an elaborate
address on “Papa’s Credits” and
“Bobby” Gunkle who kept his sub

terminated the “feed” ‘ and the
homeward trail was taken.
