Below is the OCR text representation for this newspapers page. It is also available as plain text as well as XML.

State is represented on the second
team by Dunn, Burns, and Mc-
Cleary, although no mention is made
of Gotwals, who is considered by
impartial judges to be one of the
finest tackles in the state.
Several paragraphs of the article
are devoted to a euology on the
work of the W. and J. men. While
the men selected for the first team
are undoubtedly among the best
players in the state, we fell confi
dent that if Piekarski were not a
Penn. graduate and the coach for
W. and J., his choice would have
been somewhat different.
Bro;:herhood Reception
Last Wednesday evening a recep
tion was given at the home of Dr.
and Mrs. Pond to all Episcopal stu
dents by the Brotherhood of St.
Andrew and the ladies of St. An
drew's Episcopal Mission. A short
talk was given by Prof. Espenshade
on the history of the Mission, its
growth, and prospects for the future.
Prof. Espenshade has been connect
ed with the Mission since 1898 and
has been lay-reader most of that
time. Prof. Frizzell, who is director
of the Brotherhood, then told about
the work of the Brotherhood, its
origin, and the good it has accom
plished in this country and abroad.
Excellent refreshments were
served by the ladies, and after every
one had satisfied the inner man,
all adjourned to the parlor and sang
songs till a late hour. Over forty
persons were present and the re
ception was a great success from
every standpoint.
