sity of Michigan, he was suddenly
called out of town; before leaving,
he requested Professor Brunnow,
who had married his daughter and
was at inmate of his family, to find
some member of the faculty to take
his place at morning prayers, next
day. Thereupon Professor Brun
now.visited several. professors,. and
his first question to each of them
was, with his German use of the

tained data to prove that athletes, at
least Yale athletes, do not die young
er than non-athletic - persons. In
support of his theory he says of 761
athletes who competed in meets in
the years between 1855, and 1904
only 51 died since graduation.
