Library Notes The Librarian has received a let ter from General Charles Miller of Franklin, Pennsylvania, authorizing the subscription on behalf of the Li brary to Alleyne Ireland’s Report on Colonial Administration in the Far East. The Report will be issued by Small, Maynard and Co., but owing to cost is prohibitive to all but the larger libraries. We count ourselves, therefore, doubly favored in having the wise generosity of General Mil ler in this instance. The Report is prepared on behalf of The Universi ty of Chicago, by Mr. Ireland, who has lived nine years in the Colonies and Dependencies of the Far East, who has had every courtesy and aid extended by the English, German, French and . American Home and Foreign Offices, and whose previous works on Tropical Colonization, The Far Eastern Tropics, and the Anglo- Boer Conflict prove his personal and literary qualities for the task in hand.
