    Library.
The Library has secured the
Patent Office Publications of Great
Britain and Canada. These will be
be found in the Engineering Alcove
as soon as received, and should be
of interest to the students in technical
work. An effort is being made to
secure complete sets.
Auction catalogues from the prin
cipal firms are on file in the Libra
rian’s office.. The catalogues of the
Anderson Auction Co., The Merwin-
Clayton Sales Co., of New York;
of Stan V. Henkles.of Philadelphia;
and of C. V. Libbie and Co., of
Boston are regularly received. Bids
will be executed by the Library, and
notes made for any one interested in
special subjects.
A subject index of Theses has
been placed in the Librarian’s Room,
to be used in connection with
the file of Theses. Subjects are
grouped by Courses, so that one
may readily review all the thesis
subjects in any one or all de
partments. For example, if one be
interested in the subjects treated by
students in the Courses in Chemis
try, all such subjects will b.e found
grouped from the Class of 1861 to
the present.

The Faculty Athletic Committees
of Princeton, Harvard and. Yale
have made public the set of athletic
eligibility rules, which they adopted
lately. The new rules are as follows:
1. No man shall be eligible to
compete in intercollegiate athletics
unless he shall have completed a
full year’s work at the university for
which he is competing and shall
have passed the examinations satis
factory for advance with his class.
2. No man shall be eligible who
has a degree equivalent to that re
quired to enter the senior class at
Princeton, Yale or Harvard.
3. No special student shall be
eligible. Exception to this rule; a
special student may be' eligible in
case he is vouched for by the dean,
first as having satisfied ' entrance re
quirements equivalent to those re
quired of freshmen; second as hav
ing completed a full year’s work and
as having passed a satisfactory ex
amination upon that year’s work;
third, as taking work during his
year of competition equivalent to that
required of those who are candi
dates for a degree.
4. No man shall compete as a
member of any university team for
more than three years.
