Those who wish to take fencing
lessons should report to “Pop” Gol
den at once.
Mr. John I. Burrell, ’O6, has
been suffering for some time with a
healing that attacked his lower jaw
bone. For about three weeks he
was unable to attend to his college
duties, and on Jan. 29 he went
home. It is understood that he will
soon go to Philadelphia to undergo
an operation which will involve the
removal of considerable portions of
the jaw bone.
Prof. A. H. Espenshade who has
been granted a leave of absence un
til next September, sailed for Spain
last Saturday.
The committee appointed by the
Yale University Council to frame
new athletic measures has made the
following recommendations to the
faculty:
(1) No more lutoring of ath
letics at the expense of the Uni
versity Athletic Association.
2. Limiting the number and ex
penses of the coaches for the ath
letic teams.
3. Absolute publicity in the ac
counts of the tieasurer, Walter
Camp.
Other recommendations favored in
part by the committee are:
(1) Giving up training tables.
2. Prohibiting athletes from
other universities from playing on
Yale teams after importation.
3. Cutting off all extravagance
in the matter of athletic administra-
