pus, in the size and. character of the
student body which increases every
year, and in the eagerness with
which men throughout the Union
seek after State’s graduates. There
is doubt whether any other man
during the same length of time and
under the same conditions could
have accomplished more than Dr.
Atherton has done. Three magnifi
cent buildings obtained in as many
years is a record of which any col
lege president may well be proud.
The executive committee of the
Board of Trustees has appointed a
sub-committee to take the subject
of the election of a President into
consideration. It is the hope of
this committee that by the coming
Commencement or the opening of
the next college year some one will
be found who can take up the work
where it has been left off. In ihe mean
t me, during Dr. Atherton’s leave of
absence the active duties of president
will be performed by Dr. Buckhout,
vice-president of the College
