Here Gettysburg was given 10 yards f >r “ho ding,” and Shearer added 2 at tackle. Barr threw Sieber for a loss, but Hill hurdled for Ist down. Lammert failed at Barr’s end, and on the next line up occurred one of the most spectacular plays witnessed on Beaver Field for many a day. On a line plunge the ball shot out from the heap, and into Captain Yeckley’s arms. Yeck was away like a flash, and ran 60 yards, be fore finally coming down on Gettys burg’s one yard line. State’s fren zied undergraduates in the stands were tearing things loose in great shape, as Gotwals plunged over for the second score, and Miller’s trusty boot made the talley 12 to 0. A moment later time was called, and the warr.ors trotted off to the “track house’ ’ amid an outburst of impartial applause. For the Gettysburg boys had shown some fine football, and made the struggle an interesting one all the time. SECOND-HALF. The play in the second half was like that just described, an abun dance of punting, also fumbling, and good tackling. Sieber’s fine punting, Yeck’s 30 yard end run, Moorhead’s running of the ball, as well as the sterling line plunging of Gotwals, Wray, and Putanm were the features. After 15 minutes of hard play State’s men carried the ball for 70 yards and McGee went over for the third touchdown; again Miiler kicked ■he goal, making the score 18 to 0. With 5 minutes to THE STATE COLLEGIAN play State worked hard for a fourth score, Moorhead twice working the quarter-back kick' in neat style, and consistent gains being made all around, —but the whistle blew with the ball on Gelt>sburg's 20 yard line.
