The Appropriation
The bill passed unanimously by the
state legislature appropriating $357,-
536 for the college was cut down some
by Governor Pennypacker along with a
great many others. He swung his axe
deep into the very trunk of what should
be our chief support. The followirg
are the items vetoed : The appropria
tion for the new agricultural building
was cut from $150,000 as recom
mended by the legislature to $75,000,
the item of $21,583 for the extension
of the heating and lighting plant for
the agricultural building was vetoed al
together, the item of $7,500 for new
equipments for the different engineer
ing departments was cut to $2,500
and that of $3OOO for repairing the
boiler rooms and putting in new pipe s
was cut $2OOO. The total reductic n
was $103,583.
Co-operative Society Election .
At a meeting of the students Co
operative Association held Wednesday
evening, May 10, the following persons
were elected to represent the differert
classes as directors: Foltz and Rei
gart,’o6, Nick and Kunkle, ’O7, Moor
head and Dice, 'OB.
Thompson Elected
