June 15, (Commencement Game)
Open, at State College.
When completed, it is expected
that the schedule will number about
twenty-five games, of which only
about one-fifth will be played on
Beaver Field. Yale plays about 32
games and Princeton 29, so it is seen
that State is not far below these col
leges, both in number of games and
in difficulty of schedule.
The early Southern trip is a new
venture with State College baseball
teams and the one proposed this
year is largely in the nature of an
experiment. It will be taken during
the Easter vacation and the quality
of the teams to be played, Mt. St.
Mary’s, Annapolis, University of
Va., Washington and Lee, and
Georgetown will make the proposi
tion a pretty tough one. However
if the weather proves favorable and
and a few of the possibilities develop,
State’s team will give a goodaccouut
of itself.

The tracks of the traction company
will extend from a central point in
Milesburg to Bellefonte, where they
will traverse several streets; thence
to Pleasant Gap, and from there
through Lauvertown and Lemont to
State College. The intention is to
equip the road with a high speed
service and introduce a time sched
ule which will not only be conven
ient to interurban travelers but will
also be in harmony with the Eelle
fonte steam road schedules. The
franchise introduced into Council at
last Saturday night’s meeting calls
for permission to lay tracks on Col
lege avenue, beginning where the
pike enters the Borough. Similar
ordinances are being favorably le
ceived by the Councils of Milesburg
and Bellefonte. The corporation is
controlled by Centre county men
