a last opportunity. If the enthusiasm shown had been packed into three fourths of the grand stand and di rected in organized cheering, as it should, you would have been more nearly ready to cope with Dickinson’s well known ability to yell. Now is it going to be necessary to cage the field? A Communication To the State Collegian It is very desirable and important that there should be a large and en thusiastic crowd at the Dickinson game. But it is more desirable that those of the students who forget themselves so far on that day as to drink to excess, making spectacles of themselves in the town and on the field, should remain at home. It is a pity that there are some who cannot get out of sight of the College without losing all sense of self-re spect and decency, and who think that no one knows them. It is high time that stringent meas ures were taken to have this ow dyism stopped. It affects the name of the College very seriously, for those who make themselves so con spicuous by their conduct are the very ones by whom the College is judged. And if they have not enough sense of honor to behave as gentlemen away from home, it is time that their duty was made plain to them. Let us all co-operate on this idea of representing the vei y best man hood there is in us, thereby keeping the respect of our friends who will see us that day, and retaining the fair name of our Alma Mater, which is steadily increasing among those who want to see the highest ideals fulfilled at State. A FRIEND OF THE COLLEGE. [There is much in this letter that needs earnest consideration. It is a true sample of the view held by the general public. If by no other reasons you should be guided by that view.—Ed.] “Man wants but little here below, nor wants that little long,” but when it comes to his wearing apparel he’s pretty particular. B.
