Toward the end the figures have shifted to State’s side in a way
that no one expected at the start. Only six points against the
white and blue were scored in the last half, and it was hard luck
that they do not come on the right side of the ledger.
The figures show the advent of Coach Reed. . His help in shap
ing the line was inestimable. With this able coach and another
for the back field, next year’s team should be a winner.
The financial result of the season has not yet been announced,
but there can be no doubt that with only two guarantees and one
forfeit to pay, and with paying tips everywhere, the Athletic As
sociation should be well out of debt.
This year we lose four “S” men. They are Whitworth, this
year’s captain and half back; Arbuthnot, left tackle; Elder,
quarter back, and Thompson, half back. They have contributed
