The result of the big game on November 14th, at Williamsport, was, of course, disappointing to State, but when defeated let us not be ashamed to own up to it. Dickinson won because they dis played better teamwork, and throughout the game they played hard, fierce foot ball. Every man on the State team played for all that was in him, but they did not seem to have that fierce helping spirit which Dickinson displayed to a marked degree, and therein was the cause of our defeat. It is now up to the team and coaches to get together and defeat W. and J. However, what helps to console State men and the team for their defeat at Williamsport was the magnificent spirit displayed by the student body. Throughout the game they yelled con tinuously. Between the 1 valves, led by the band, they marched up and down the field, singing and waving pennants. When the game was over and the touchdown which sounded the death knell of State’s hopes had been severed, they swooped down on the players and carried them off the field, exactly as if they had been victorious.
