High jump—Won by Saunders, ’O5. Height, 5 feet 4 inches,
Second, Barclay, ’O5. Height, 5 feet 3 inches. Third, Nolan, ’O6,
and Jacobs, ’O6. Height, 4 feet 11 inches.
Broad jump—Won by Whitworth, ’O4. Distance, 20 feet II
inches. Second, Saunders, ’O5. Distance, 19 feet 7 inches.
Third, Walsh, ’O3. Distance, 18 feet, 10 inches.
State, 6; Franklin and Marshall, 3.
Although she put up & plucky game, Franklin and Marshall
was beaten on Beaver Field, May 22d, in an eight-inning game.
Errors were numerous, but the game was interesting. The score

Batteries—Mcllveen and Huber; Flora, Kilheffer and Shock.
State was beaten at Philadelphia, May 23d, in more ways than
one. It seems that this city is corrupt even to umpires. Umpire
Proud understands systematic robbing. If he did not see a man
touch each base that man was called out. A seeming impossibility
is that Miller gave seven bases on balls. Of course, we under
stand that it would never do to beat the University. The score:—
