—Splendid work has been done on the new cut-off of the Pennsylvania by the Columbia Contracting Company. The line was laid out and the construction is now under the direction of George C. Clark, who for several years has been in active charge of the extraordinary improvements of the Pennsylvania in the Pittsburg . district. Mr. Clark was in charge of the big im provements at Irwin and Latimer, at Stewart station and the Union depot. He is one of the active Pittsburg 'alumni of "State." —Ralph L. MacDonald, '95, superintendent of the Buffalo and Niagara Falls Electric Light and Power Company, was present at the meeting of the Electrical Engineering Society, May 5. He gave a very interesting account of the equipment of the power plants at the Falls and of the plans for the new plants soon to be erected. —J. E. Isenberg, 'O2, who was employed by the Cambria Steel Company, is now with the Stanley G. Flagg & Co., of No. 424 North 19th street, Philadelphia. He has charge of a new labora tory for the analysis of iron and steel for this firm. —W. F. Plank, 'O2, is chemist with the United Gas Improve ment Company, Broad and Arch streets, Philadelphia. —Walter M. Camp, '9l, is another graduate of this institution who is meeting with remarkable success in his work as a civil engineer. He not only stands high as a practical engineer, but is also editor of the Railway and Engineering Review, of Chicago. His latest production is a book on railroad construction, which deals in detail with all phases of the subject.
