—The Sophomore Class will banquet at the Broadway House,
Milton, March 31. The committee in charge consists of Rippel,
Geib, Connor, Hornbaker and Bennett.
—Andrew Carnegie has increased his gift to the College for a
library building from $lOO,OOO to $150,000. Work upo'i the
building will be commenced at once. The plans submitten by
Davis & Davis, of Philadelphia, have been definitely accepte'!.
—The Senior chemists started on their annual trip Saturday
morning, March 28th. Their plans for the trip included points of
interest in and about New York, Philadelphia and Harrisburg.
The party consisted of H. J. Boyle, H. G. German, G. 0. Gray,
A. .S. O'Neil, C. W. Rogers, C. N. Norris, F. J. Mosser, and M.
J. Rentschler. Dr. F. J. Pond had charge of the trip.
—The Seniors will banquet in Williamsport, May 2Qtb.
=Because of an expressed opinion that college students in gen
eral and especially students of State College are sons of wealthy
parents, an incomplete list of men in this college who are, wholly
or in part, working their way through their course of study has
been prepared. Out of a total of five hundred and seventy men
enrolled in regular and special courses, eighty-nine are engaged in
some kind of work by which their expenses are decreased. Many
others would do outside work if they could find the work to do.
Besides these there are many who either earned the money for
their college course by their own exertions before .coming here or
who have borrowed the money and will have to repay when they
