Course is increasing. The large crowd was highly entertained. The programme was in three parts. In the first of these Maro was the height of mystery. He made nothing become something in no time. A second glance! Ah, you were fooled again,—it was nothing still. Since Maro was occupied with those on the first floor, observers in the gallery could see a few movements not intended for the eye. Nevertheless very many other rapid movements were noticed by no one, and mystery was the result. The second part of the programme proved Maro to be an impressionist artist of no mean skill. His musical novelty, " the Javona," came as near to a pipe-organ in richness of 'tone as is possible with instruments in which sound is not pro duced by wind. The music produced on the " Gogglepeg," a one-stringed instrument, suggests, as the next " less " article, —the stringless banjo. When Maro again became the magician cards no longer re tained fixed spots. They changed at will. In every number he was all that his managers claim—and that is a good deal. As this is the last dance which the present senior class will give, it is their aim to make it the most remarkable social event ever held heile, and a large attendance is expected.
