In the last game of State’s season on a field of mud and water, with the elements rain, wind and cold battling’ against them, State and Dickinson struggled manfully on Beaver Field on Saturday, Nov. 23, 1901, for victory. This was the long looked for game at State. Both teams were evenly matched and enthusiasm was keyed up to the highest pitch. About one thousand people, students, instructors, visitors and townspeople, turned out despite the inclemency of the weather to witness what they all hoped, Dickinson’s downfall.
