Shaumbaug’h and Wingard. Time —two fifteen minute halves.
In the first half State kicked to Susquehanna’s six yard
line; the ball was carried back twenty-five yards; no gain on
the downs, and Susquehanna kicked to the center of field,
State getting - the ball; Scholl advanced the ball ten yards;
Bennett gained sixteen yards; no gain on next down; ten
yards gained; Smith made nine yards; Whitworth gained
eight yards; Bennett made two more yards for a touchdown;
Snith missed goal.
Susquehanna kicked off to State’s eight yard liue; Smith
ran the ball back twenty yards; Whitworth gained eighteen
yards; Scholl made fifteen yards; Miller gained one yard;
Smith made three yards; Bennett made two yards; Scholl
gained ten yards; Whitworth gained eight yards; Holloway
four yards; and these, with several small gains, and another
gain of five yards by Bennett, resulted in a touchdown; Smith
kicked goal.
Susquehanna then kicked off to Scholl, who got the ball
on the twenty yard line and ran it back ten yards; Susque
hanna in some way got the ball, but made no gains on two
downs and resorted to a kick; Whitworth caught the ball
and made a brilliant run of forty-five yards; Scholl advanced
the ball six yards; Whitworth gained five yards; Bennett
made five yards; Whitworth made a gain of four yards and
then took the ball thirty yards for a touchdown; Smith kick
ed goal. The score was 17-0.
Susquehanna kicked off to State’s ten yard line; Whit
worth received the ball and passed to Smith, who kicked to
the forty-five yard line. Here time was called.
