ment game with Westminister. Let the students turn out to these games in force, and do something for the team which has done so much for them. On May 4th the Gettysburg team played at State Col lege. With the exception of a slight wind, it was a good day for baseball. Miller was in the box for State and Winters pitched for Gettysburg. In the first few innings State had everything her own way, but afterwards Gettysburg braced up and at about the sixth inning was only one run behind. The State men then got down to work, and in spite of good playing on the part of Gettysburg piled up four more runs, and won the game by a score of 11 to 6. Both pitchers were hit rather freely, but State's hits seemed to be the more timely. Huber made a long hit to the laboratory over center fielder’s head which netted three bases. Hewitt knocked the ball to deep left, and made the circuit of four bases with his customary speed. Merkel made a neat single to right field which brought in two runs, but, in trying to take second, he was put out.
