The great hydraulic power plants at Niagara will be in teresting-, for one can there see how the great cataract has been harnessd and compelled to do the work of millions of laborers. On Friday, May 31, and Saturday, June Ist, the Pan- Amcrican Intercollegiate Athletic Championships will be held on the Athletic Field of the magnificent Stadium on the grounds of the Pan-American Exposition. The following track and field events are open to all amateur undergraduate collegians of the United States: 100 yards dash, 220 yards dash, 440 yards run, half-mile run, one mile run, two miles run, 120 yards hurdle race (10 hurdles, 3 feet 6.) 220 yards hurdle race (10 hurdles, 2 feet 6 inches.) Running high jump, running broad jump, pole vauit, putting 16-lb. shot, throwing 16-lb. hammer. Gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded tc the first, second and third men respectively in each event. Trophies will be given to the two colleges scoring greatest number of points. Entries close with the Bureau of Sports, Pan-American Exposition, 443 Ellicott Square, Buffalo, N. Y., May 18th. 1901.
