Friday evening, April 26, the Cadet Band gave a stag dance in the Armory. The crowd was not as large as it should have been but still the affair was a success. The Junior Mechanicals, accompanied by Prof. Grif fin, took a trip to Altoona Wednesday and Thursday, May 1 and 2, and went through the P. R. R. shops at that place. The company very kindly furnished Mr. H. Meredith as a guide for the party. Wallace Calder, ex—'92, spent a few days visiting old friends at this place. R., has been suffer ing a prolonged illness at his home in Osceola. John H. Yocum, ’9l, of Newark, N. J., was married April 11, 1901 to Miss Florence Knapp at Deposit, N. Y. Nelson M. Lloyd, ’92. Evening Editor of the New York Sun, whose “Chronic Loafer" was one of the notable successes of last year, has in press a new novel with a Penn sylvania back ground which will appear during the summer or early autumn. F. T. Beers, ’9B, chemist with the Climax Powder Company, of Emporium, has recently been promoted with a considerable advance in salary. A letter from James S. Sloaue, '95, Spokane, Wash ington, states that he expects to visit the College at the coming Commencement. His friends will be pleased to meet him as he was formerly an instructor at this place.
