graduate work at the University of Illinois and at Cornell, and has had an extensive experience in many branches of biological research. He ’hasfieen variously employed as a teacher, an original investigator, a scientific writer, a pub lic speaker on scientific subjects, and in duties relative to membership in numerous scientific societies of the natural istic-order. Mr. W. N. Golden is the new physical director. He is a mail with an excellent reputation, both as an all around athlete, and as an instructor in athletics. He has had a wide experience both in college athletics and with athletic clubs. The Purdue University foot-ball team was trained by Mr. Golden, and Page, Prinstein, and Ewry, of jumping fame, have all-been under his training. At, present Mr. Gol den's 1 attention is occupied-with"the foot-ball team, and his popularity with'the boys, together withtheir excellent form after only a few-weeks of training, seems to augur well for His success at State. Messrs. Churchill and'Schoffstall are now assistants in the Chemistry department. The former comes from Chelsea, Mass., and is a,graduate of Harvard, while the latter is a State graduate of the class of 'OO. P., A.. Niven of New York, is employed as an assistant in the shops. While in New York, he was employed by several, companies, with whom he made an excellent reputa tion as an engineer. Mr. Pingree, of,Denmark, Me., is an assistant at the Experiment Station, He is a graduate of the Massachu setts Agricultural Colleg'e. L. D. Ansart, ,a graduate of the College in ’9B, is acting as assistant in mathematics. Professor ,and Mrs. Stoek spent their vacation at - the College.
