After several successful attempts to advance the ball, Cure kicked the ball 75 yards up the field and it rolled back of the goal line and was touched back by Bucknell. Bucknell brought the ball out to the 25 yard line and, after two attempts to punt down the field, both going out of bounds, the ball was given to State on, Bucknell's 25 -yard line. Here Burns with a clear field ahead of him slipped in one of the ditches used to make the 5 -yard lines, and fell. With Burns' fall fell part of the spirit of the sup 7 porters of White and Blue. Then by kicks and line plunges Bucknell succeeded in getting the ball down to State's 25 -yard, line, when Mathewson tried for a goal but failed, State getting the ball and by a bad kick giving it to Bucknell on State's 45- yard line. From this place Bucknell carried it over for a touch down, Stanton making a run of 28 yards. Mathewson failed in the try for goal, and the score was 0-5 in favor of the orange and blue. After • the kick off the ball changed hands several times and when time was called the ball was in Bucknell's territory as a result of a 40 -yard kick by Cure. State took a decided brace in the second half and the play was mainly in Bucknell's territory throughout this half. State finally got the ball on Bucknell's 25 -yard line and tried for a goal from the field, but failed in the attempt. The ball being brought out to the 25 -yard line by Bucknell was kicked out of danger and after several scrimmages, and , end runs by Burns and Harris of 20 and 14 yards respectively the ball was worked back into Bucknell's territory when time was called and State had suffered her third defeat at the hands of Bucknell. What the tale might have been had not State had Wood, Burns, and Scholl it is hard to say; but the showing of our team in its crippled condition and considering the condition of the field was very commendable. Bucknell played a fast game when she played; but her dilatory tactics in giving the signals and her playing for time on pretense of injury was not a display of that highest kind of sportsmanship, which is dear to every lover of true sport. The line-up of the two teams was as follows: STATE. BIICKNULL. Cummings . . . . • ...... centre Sweet Taylor right guard Gilles Scholl left guard' Kase POSITIONS.
