ON Saturday, October 28th, State expected a hard game with
Dickinson, since her showing against the Indians was of
the best, while in the minds of the Dickinson warriors,
they had the game figured out as theirs. But much to the sur
prise of every one, State developed unusual strength and had
everything her own way. State's defense was like a stone wall,
and her offense was superb, and every one took hope as a result
of the game. Each man on the team when called upon to carry
the ball was sure to make a gain. Johnson• at quarter played a
fine game with the exception of two fumbles not due to any fault
of his. Burns was in the game as much as ever, always to be
depended upon when yards meant a first down. Wood was every
where present, and Miller at tackle proved himself a good ground
gainer, while our old war horses, who are always good, need no
special mention, as they are sure to be there when yards come
hard. Taylor at guard proved a valuable man.
The game as a whole was a beauty to watch, the cleanness
and quickness of play in both teams being especially commented
upon by the crowd of witnesses.
The first touchdown was made after 13 minutes and 3o seconds
of play, and the second 2 miiitites and io seconds later. The
last in the second half, after i i minutes of play. The line-up:
