very poor quality, much more so than the closeness of the score would indicate. Both pitchers did good work throughout the game, Burns having the best of the strike-outs while Matthew son fared best in the number of hits made off of him but only because of the lack of head work by some one on our team. The double play by Morgan, Miller and Blair was the only bit of really commendable fielding on the part of our team. While our team fielded badly, so did Bucknell. The weather was hardly desirable for base-ba day. The score was:— STATE. R. . . r . . o .. . I . . I .. . 0 .• . 0 Johnson, m.. . Hayes, C.. . Blair, ib. . Burns, p. . . Miller, 2b. . Morgan, 3b. It was on the whole the most successful trip ever taken by a " State " team. Our boys showed themselves the superior of a member of the big " Pour." It was hardly to be expected; yet when we take in view .the progress we have made, it is but a natural out growth, the result of a progressive movement in our athletics. We may well congratulate ourselves on our success. The trip had its faults of course, but winning three, tieing one, and ATHLETICS 1 but rather more of a foot-ball BucKNELL Conover, 1. f. .
