    STATE won her fifth victory by defeating Franklin and Mar
shall's ball tossers on May i3th. Franklin and Marshall
came on State's home field strong and confident of victory,
but alas she was dooMed to disappointment. Our boys on the
other hand were confident of the game.
On the whole the game was well played. The first three in
nings were all State's, then P. & M. steadied up and held our
fellows down to but one run for six innings. The score is not
significant of the manner in which our boys found the ball, Burns
had his opponents shooting ducks throughout the game. Hewitt's
display of nerve in stealing two bases was appalling to the op
ponents. Burns' home run was one for keeps, Hayes, Morgan,
and Ruble also had their eyes on the ball. The score:

STATE met Bucknell on the diamond May loth. While Buck
nell did not expect to carry off all the honors in the events of
the day before, she was confident of defeating our ball team.
Here she was again mistaken and was defeated in a very loosely
played game by our ball tossers. The game as a whole was of a
