On May 19,• Prof. Buckhout gave a very enjoyable reception to the members of ,the Senior class. Mr. H. H. Stock, formerly professor in the Mining department, of the College rendered a very charming solo in Chapel, May 28. Mining students of Junior and Sophomore classes took a short trip to the mines at Snow Shoe during the latter part, of May. Prof. Jackson entertained the Seniors June 3. Immediately, after the Thespians, Tuesday June 13 of Com mencement week, the Sophomores cremated `,` Old Dutch " on Beaver Field. • During the Dickinson meet, Martin in the pole vault, and Max well in the hurdles,. sustained slight injuries. • Prof..•Reber tendered a reception to Junior and Sophomore stu dents in Engineering courses, May ?o, The Bellefonte Central, Railroad Company made use of the • College siding to tear down an old locomotive, using in the opera tion, the compressed air drill belonging to the Engineering department. . On June 2 the members of the Press Club enjoyed a reception at Café Harrison. • The materials for the Hydraulic Laboratory have been ordered, and will be installed during the Summer or early in the Pall. • Cummings, '9s,,sent. to the Civil ,Engineering department some blue prints and specifications of trestle . bridges used on the Fort Dodge and Omaha,railroad., • The three, graduates in the Mechanical Engineering Course have obtained or been offered the following positions:—Louis A. Harding with. the. Dixon Manufacturing . Co., of Scranton; -C. Snyder with the Union Foundry and Machine Co. of Pittsburg; and Clarence Stone with either the B. F. Sturdavant Co. of Phila delphia, or the Union Switch and Signal Co. of Swissville, Pa. E. S. Williams, '99, a graduate of the Civil Engineering depart ment, has secured a position with the New York Central & Hud son River Railroad Co. Of the seven other graduates of this de partment it is probable that four or five more will secure positions with the same company.
