not a fifth part of the actual Alumni news is published, just be
cause we cannot find out the other four-fifths. But how are we
to find it out if those who know don't tell us ? It may seem a
little like boasting to write an article about yourself for publica
tion; but who can write it better ? Moreover it' is not boasting at
all; but a favor to your college paper, and a debt you owe to•
your old college friends. Therefore we would ask each Alumnus
to let us know at least his own changes of position, and promotion,.
and those of others when possible.
OWING to several reasons, the military drill, which has been ,
suspended for the present, will probably not be resumed
this term. Two of the principal reasons are; the absence.
of a Commandant, and the insufficient accoutrements for the•
proper equipment of the whole battalion. This, however, is not
the fault of the College authorities, as they have been trying. to
secure additional equipment for some time, and have also asked
to have a Commandant detailed for duty here. But for some
reason they have not succeeded in obtaining either, and so it was
deemed best to suspend drill until some arrangement could be
made. As the absence of Commencement Drill will be missed by
Visitors at that time, it is to be hoped that some arrangement can
be made before the opening of College next Pall, by which drill.

however, " no ill wind, but does some good;" and
so the suspension of drill should give the base ball and
track teams a better opportunity to do good work.
Although the base ball team has not quite fulfilled expecta
tions thus far, yet they have held their own and should be•
heartily supported
,for the rest of the year. One of our exchanges
recently contained a joke stating that whenever there was a base
ball game, their atheletic field was like a grave-yard,—because it.
