will be unable to do so. on account of weak eyes..
Prof. F. E. Foss was struck on the arm by, a stick flying from
the saw in the carpenter shop during vacation. Upon examina
tion it was found that the. small bone of the left arm was broken.
Dr. and Mrs. W. J. Keith moved into the house occupied last
year by Dr. Runkle, where they will reside for the balance of
the school year.
Prof. Tudor, who was unable, on account of his wife's death, to
continue' his duties last session, has again taken change of his
classes.
It is reported that Captain and Mrs. Pearson have arrived in
Cuba.
Lockwood, '99, and Senor M. J. Romero were in New York
City during vacation.
Martin,. 2 02, was. at `` U. P. in Phil'a. training on Franklin
Field. during vacation.
R. L. Streeter, 'o3, having completed the work required during
the Sub-Freshman year, has returned to his home at Medix Run.
He. expects to enter college. next. September.
Miss Hattie Atherton has entered the Presbyterian Hospital at
Philadelphia for the purpose of becoming a professional nurse.
Prof. Willard recently entertained his father and mother from
New Hampshire.
Rev. J. D. Smith, of Bloomsburg, occupied the pulpit on Sun
day, April 9, Rev. Gerald. Stanley Lee being absent.
H. V. Black, has returned to college after having been
absent nearly the whole of last session.
Owing to the absence of Rev. G. S. Lee chapel services on the
last Sunday of last term were conducted by Prof. B. Gill.
Waiter B. Snow, graduate of Boston Institute of Technology,
and on the engineering staff of the B. F. Sturtevant Company,
gave a lecture, April 12, on " The Influence of Mechanical Draft
upon the Ultimate Efficiency of Steam Boilers." The different
types of apparatus and methods of application were illustrated
by about fifty lantern slides. The lecture was under auspices of
the Scientific Association.
