Prof. Fehr has moved to his new home on the College Campus.
The house was recently completed and is a pretty addition to the
onds already erected there.
In accordance with the custom in vogue here, the Freshmen
class presented the student body with cider on the night of
September 26th.
• On Saturday, Sept. 17th, a large train-load of people from
Tyrone, who were picnicingat Hunter’s Park, made a brief visit
to the College.
T. R. Beyer, Assistant Prof, of Civil Engineering, has been
seriously ill with typhoid for some time. His condition is some
what improved at present and he expects to return to the College
by the first of November.
On account of an unexpected but urgent call, General Beaver
Was unable to deliver the address in Chapel, Sunday, Sept. 25th,
as Was expected. His son, Gilbert Beaver, of the class of ’9O, ap
peared in his stead and his earnest and well delivered discourse
appealed to all.
The quarters of the Press Club have been removed to room
number 376, Main Building, where the usual number of periodi
cals and newspapers, purchased for the benefit of its members,
will be kept.
The Borough has been making extensive improvements in order
to afford better surface drainage on the side of College Avenue
adjoining the College Campus.
The Free Dance has made arrangements with the Wilczek
Concert Co., to furnish one of the best concerts, if not the best
ever heard in the College Chapel, on Saturday, Nov. 26th.
The College Y. M. C. A., as is its usual custom, sent five dele
gates to the Students’ Conference at Northfield, held during the
first part of July. They were C. B. Snyder, ’99, W. H. Thom
son, ’99, H. E. Wagner, ’99, D. E. Young, ’OO, and A. K. Ris
ser, ’Ol.
There has been delay in arranging a schedule of military exer
cises for the session, owing to uncertainty about the plans of the
War Department in respect to the detailing of an officer of the
Regular Army to act as Commandant, ■ Regular drill; however,
will begin shortly, even if only under a temporary organization.
