The sale of cattle by the College Experiment Station, Sep tember 22d, amounted to nearly $l7OO, the prices being very satisfactory. A very handsome compound incandescent dynamo has been placed in the Electrical Laboratory. Prof. Reber is spending this term in California, but expects to return at the beginning of the year. Mr. Greenwood, graduate of Wooster Polytechnic Institute, takes the place of Mr. Stone as instructor in the shops. At the last meeting of the Mandolin Club, L. G. Dodge was elected leader. While the students of the Mining Summer School were in South Bethlehem, they were entertained by Dr. Drown, President of Lehigh University. Mr. Siebert, who was an instructor in the Civil Engineering Department Inst year, hns accepted a position with a prominent architect in Cumberland, Md. The Christian Endeavor Society held a social at the home of Prof. Butz on the evening of September 23d. The special feature of the entertainment was a shadow pantomime, which was thoroughly enjoyed. The attendance was quite large. During the summer the engine and dynamos were removed from the Physical Laboratory to the Engineering building. The dynamo room will now be used as a laboratory, the power being supplied by College Light and Traction Plant. The first meeting of the Press Club was held Tuesday even ing, September 21st. W. A. Thomas ’9B, was unanimously elected treasurer to fill the place of the late Mr. Stevenson. Nine names were proposed for membership. Twelve magazines as well as several daily and weekly newspapers have been ordered, and it is the intention of the members to furnish reliable news of the college for publication. Mr. Howard P. Nash, of Southport, L. 1., one of the officials of the S. A. E. fraternity, visited the local Chapter during the earlier part of this month. Prof. Gill made a brief visit to his former home, Boston, during College Notes.
