1897-] Resolved , lhat the Class of 1900 of the Pennsylvania State College, when they become Sophomores, will take no part in hazing members of the Class of 1901 or any other new students, and will, as a class, see that any of its members who shall engage in any act of hazing be reported to the proper ■authorities. Resolved , Further, that the Class of 1900 will use its utmost influence with the Class of 1901 to secure the passage by it of similar resolutions, and, as long as it is in college, will use its influence towards securing the perma nent discontinuance of the practice. Mr. D. E. Carpenter, ’99, has been appointed to succeed Mr. Miller, ’97, in the book-room. The ’9B La Vie was. placed on sale on the afternoon of June 11. There is a great demand for the books, and they are nearly all sold, The Sophomores have received their class hats. These hats are provided with adjustable bands of the class colors—steel gray and maroon. A reception was tendered to the Senior Class by Prof, and Mrs. Reber on the evening of May 29, Davis, ’9B, and Diehl, ’9B, won the championship in the State College Tennis Tournament. The School of Mines has received a valuable collection of iron ores and products, which were contributed by the Bethlehem Iron and Steel Company. Gabriel Hiester, ’6B, was re-elected Alumni Trustee by a unani mous vote. The only promotion yet made in battalion for next year is that of H. M. Andrews, who will be cadet-major. Several students, members of the National Guard of Pennsyl vania, took part in the parade in Philadelphia, May 15.
