The most decisive victory that has been won for State recently
was won by the relay team at University of Pennsylvania’s meet
in Philadelphia, April 24. They ran against teams from Hahne
mann and Villa Nova, making the mile in 3 mins. 44 secs. The
members of the team are: Kaiser, ’9B; Norman, ’99; Espeu
shade, ’9B; Fulton, ’oo, and Spalding, ’OO (sub.).
The r A fraternity gave a reception to their friends on the
evening of May 1.
The ’9B and ’99 Mining Engineering students will leave on
June 16 for Summer School, which will be held in the anthracite
coal mines near Pottsville.
At the last meeting of the class of ’99 the following men were
chosen to serve on the “Ea Vie ” Board: H. H. Mallory, editor
in-chief; W. F. Barclay, H. P. Wood, N. P. Findley, D. E. Car
penter, W. E. Affelder, A. T. Johnson and W. T. Griffin, asso
ciate editors; E. A. Harding and G. J. Yundt, artists; N. W.
Buckhout, photographer; W. E. Brandt and J. E. Haehnlen,
business managers.
The Athletic Association has elected the following officers for
the ensuing year: Curtin, president; Kaiser, vice-president;
Strom, secretary; Cochran, treasurer; Findley, Ansart and Clap
per, auditing committee.
