The Free Lance ,
They "did ’’ the town
Just upside down,
All records did they smash.
And thus she spent
His every cent,
But soon then came the crash,
His watch and chain,
And gold-tipped cane
He "hocked ” with other trash.
For money flew,
And " birdie ’’ too,
Yes, quicker than a flash.
And then so sad,
Went home the lad,
Who made this awful mash,
He walked the ties.
While 11 birdie ’ ’ flies
For other college "hash.’’

Oh, brother dear, in college name,
Beware of seaside mashes;
For they’ll make you repent the same,
In "sackcloth and in ashes,"

The modern youth kissed the modern maid
’Neath her chin of alabaster,
And he smacked his lips with zest at the taste—
’Twas suggestive of some kind of plaster,— Ex.
IT has long been a question to me,

If the coming woman wears bloomers,
