    CUBAN GIANTS--STATE.
The Cuban Giants defeated our team iii a close
game of ball at Hunter's Park on Wednesday,
May sixteenth. The game belonged to State
until the sixth inning when a batting streak for
the visitors and several errors of our own netted
eight runs for the Cuban Giants. The fielding
of both teams was loose. Score

defeated Lock Haven in a close and exciting
game on our home grounds. In the last half of
the ninth inning, with two men out, the visitors
raised a kick and left the field, the umpire giv.

played thirteen games, four of which were yietor
ions, and one was a tie. Most of the defeats
were due to professionalism and it is to be hoped
that this objectionable featui o of the game will
be missed in next season's work.
