hundred comfortably, but it will easily accommo
date from a hundred and fifty to two hundred
more on a pinch. The roof is broad and project
ing, with a gable in front. It bears three flagstaffs.
The seats are broad and comfortable, the first four
rows being furnished with movable backs. Be
neath the seats at the back is a ticket office with
two stairways leading up from it on the inside.
There is also space for dressing rooms and lockers
which will in time be fitted up. It is the crown
ing feature of our fine athletic field, and we take
this opportunity of heartily thanking the Legisla
ture for their munificence and the advanced atti
tude they have taken toward athletics at P. S. C.
—The prospects for a successful football season
are very .bright. There are about thirty candi
dates for the eleven while many of last year's vic
torious team will fill their old positions. The fol
lowing' is the probable constitution of the' team.
Brown will probably fill his old place at full back,
Haley will dro . p out of the line and take Fay's place
as left half; Wolfe will take Taylor's place as right
half back; Hoskins, will play centre; Atherton,
will play quarter back ; Fisher, left guard ; Hilde
brand right guard ; Dunmore, left tackle ; Dowler,
right tackle; Harris, left end ; White, right end.
There are other promising candidates. Stuart
is putting up a fine game as full back on the
second eleven ; Beers, a 220 lb Freshman, is trying
for centre; Shaffer also a new man, is a candidate
for tackle, while Bowman '94 as half back, and
Robinson '96 at end are putting up very strong
games

—The State College Reserves went to
Altoona Oct. 7th, to play the Altoona
Cricket club. They met defeat by the score of
6-o. Fay of last year's team won the game for
Altoona, scoring the only touchdown, from which
the goal was kicked. Altoona far outweighed
our light team, as her men made an average of
189 pounds. The score was made in the first
half. In the second half our boys had slightly the
advantage but were unable to force the ball across
the line. The only play by which Altoona made
substantial gains was the turtle back. The team
lined up as follows :
P. S. C. Scrub.
POSITIONS. Altoona C. C.
Robison right end Westbrook.
Shaeffer right tackle Neilson.
Dunemore right guard Gaullidet.
