dances. The whirl of exercises of more or less
interest, with all the other pleasures of the com
mencement, made it a week which flew but too
rapidly for his inclination.
This is the popular man, A fellow free
with his time, tobacco, end money, always ready
for a game, if thereby he saw recluse a coming
pleasure, though he knows that on the morrow he
is sure of a “flunk.” He rarely answers more ques
tions than absolutely necessary to put him through.
He has a deep and abiding adoration of the
senoritas in whose company he is generally found
when not in his room entertaining his neighbors.
He is a fellow of exceptional conversational ability
and kindly feelings for everybody, and makes
light of his own troubles while helping others in
theirs.
A reception was given by Miss Maytee Olds,
Friday evening, May 27.
An informal dance was given by the Betas on
Wednesday evening, June 1.
The Phi Gamma Delta fraternity gave a recep
tion on Tuesday evening, May 24.

Professor and Mrs. Davis gave a musicale on
Friday evening, May 20.
The dressing room and bleachers on the ath
letic grounds have been completed and a long felt
want has been supplied.
The Kappa Sigma fraternity will next term oc
cupy the house which is being built on the lot
adjoining the Phi Gamma Delta house on the left.
At the meeting of the trustees on Tuesday, June
14th, the old members of the board were re-elect
ed, and the business consisted simply in carrying
into effect that which was transacted at the Janu
ary meeting.
An interesting and instructive lecture was de
livered in the chapel on Friday evening, May 27,
by Mr. Renick of the Treasury department at
Washington. The subject was, “Our Treasury
Department System.”
The largest crowd ever gathered on the campus
witnessed the exhibition drill of the State College
cadets Tuesday, p. m., June 14th. The drill
lasted about an hour. . The oppressive heat made
it especially hard to drill.
The second Rhetorical exhibition was held in
the chapel May 18. The speakers were Eachus
and Fay ’9.3, Brenneman, Brewer, and Miss Hunt
er, ’94. Clement, Cummins, Geary, Greer, Har
der, Heppenstall, and J. E. Hall.
The annual meeting of the alumni association
was held in the Y. M. C. A. hall Tuesday morn
ing, June 14th. The following officers were elect
ed, James Potter, of Bellefonte, President; Miss
Blanche Patterson, of State College, secretary and
treasurer.
On Friday evening, May 13th, the Pa Alpha
Zeta Chapter of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraterni
ty was installed at Bellefonte by the alumni rep
resentatives of the fraternity from Adrion College;
after the iniatory ceremonies a banquet was serv
ed at the Bush House. The charter members are
Krumrine ’93, Brenneman, Patrick and Rebhum
'94, and Robinson, Wishart, and Moore ’95.
